Built by the Eastern Aircraft Division of General Motors, this TBM, with BuNo 91188 (4093), was used by the United States Navy (USN) during WWII. 24803 is on display on the hangar deck of the USS Intrepid (CV-11) at the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum at Pier 86 in New York, New York.It is on loan from the National Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola, Florida. The Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum is based near Titusville, Florida, and is home to a large collection of aircraft dating from World War I to the present.
Due to growing public concern and to minimize the risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus to our visitors, volunteers and employees, the Board of Directors of the Valiant Air Command, Inc. voted to close the museum beginning Sunday 3/15/2020 at the close of business.

The Grumman TBF Avenger (designated TBM for aircraft manufactured by General Motors) was a torpedo bomber developed initially for the United States Navy and Marine Corps, and eventually used by several air or naval arms around the world..
