In the subsequent years, Mars One repeatedly pushed back its planned date for sending humans to Mars. The Mars Colony Prize design contest challenged people from all walks of life anywhere in the world to design a 1000 person Mars Colony, with design criteria including technical merit (40 points), economic viability (30 points) and social, political, and aesthetic considerations (10 points each). It’s time for another election for president of the United States. All systems require design, construction, and testing, but no scientific breakthroughs are required to send humans to Mars and to sustain life there. From its announcement in 2012 to its bankruptcy in early 2019, it is estimated to have received tens of millions of dollars. Mars One was a small private Dutch organization that received money from investors by claiming it would use it to land the first humans on Mars and leave them there to establish a permanent human colony. HUMANS could "colonise Mars" as soon as 2026, according to tech mogul Elon Musk. Mars One has already started contracting established aerospace companies that will be able to develop the required systems.

The SpaceX chief revealed that we're just a few years away from setting up human camps on the red planet. It’s also the next time that the Earth and Mars are suitably aligned to send a rocket. The first step included holding discussion meetings with potential aerospace component suppliers in the United States, Canada, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
